Morocco is renowned for its vibrant, intricately crafted rugs. The array of colors and fascinating designs boasting bold geometric patterns make Moroccan rugs one of the most sought-after trends in the industry today. Every piece represents a unique sliver of history, evoking true folk art that can be cherished for generations to come.

Spot Cleaning Moroccan Rugs:

If your rug has become damp due to an accident or pet stain, start the cleaning process by blotting it with paper towels. Sprinkle some baking soda on top of the spot without delay and let it sit for several minutes – this will help draw out as much moisture from the affected area as possible. Afterward, use a vacuum cleaner over that particular section.

  • To keep your rug looking lustrous and free of dust, regular vacuuming is essential. It is a great way to remove unwanted dust, dirt, and debris. Hang the rug on a clothesline and use a vacuum cleaner to remove dust.
  • Sprinkling a pinch of baking soda to eliminate any unpleasant smells.
  • Avoid drying your rug in the dryer as this can cause wrinkles or damage its fabric.
  • To ensure the product’s longevity, keep it in a dry environment and avoid storing it in a bag.
  • For optimum results have your mat professionally cleaned.

How Can I Deep Clean My Moroccan Rug?

Moroccan rugs are renowned for their resilience, crafted to last a lifetime. To preserve their beauty and longevity, incorporate these basic tips into your routine:

  • To wash, lay your Moroccan rug down on a clean surface and hand-wash it with detergent and rinse it off with a garden hose.
  • Once done, lay the rug in direct sunlight so that it may dry completely.
  • Allowing it to dry in natural sunlight for one full day will help eliminate any lingering smells or humidity.

Our Afrita Basket collection is exquisitely crafted from palm fronds by female artisans in Morocco. The women who make the baskets are not employed at a factory but instead work out of their homes – and that’s something special! The production of these stunning pieces takes place in tiny villages near Marrakech, and the livelihoods of more than 100 families are supported through their production.

Our baskets are carefully crafted with authentic natural materials and therefore may feature slight differences in dimensions, colors, or design. This is part of the beauty of hand-made products!

  • Clean with a dry cloth only.
  • please be aware that your basket should not come into contact with liquids, as it could result in discoloration or molding.

Handcrafted with love, our lead-free paint and food-grade ceramic tableware is as charmingly authentic as it is dishwasher proof. Drawing from the rich cultural craftsmanship of Morocco, these pastel-colored delicate ceramics bring a unique oriental touch and can upgrade any corner or table setting. Plus, minor fluctuations in dimensions/colors/designs are expected – embracing their handmade nature!

  • Every piece is glazed after the painting process has been completed.
  • There may be small holes in the glazing which cannot be avoided but will not affect its durability or quality.
  • Clay is a “live” material, and over time small cracks may appear on the ceramic surface. These tiny fractures should be appreciated instead of feared. They further add to the unique character of handmade ceramics.
